I was working with my brother on a different side project when we started joking about building some games. We both really enjoy clicker and idle games. They’re kind of a guilty pleasure of mine.
At some point, I jokingly said: “What if we build a Tamagotchi that feeds on AI tokens?”
Fast forward: I wanted to keep it really simple at first. I also wanted a way to see how many tokens we were blasting through and what the relative costs of our usage would be.
But then I ran into a problem: it doesn’t really work with the standard Claude or OpenAI Pro accounts. The only tool that gives me the data I need without extra setup is Cursor.
I also love the combination of Cursor and Claude. That’s pretty much my workflow these days: a few prompts, some agents, and a little while later things start working.
Now my CursorGotchi is running, and I don’t want the little guy to die.
So I guess I have to keep building.
The ideas are endless, and sometimes completely useless and nonsensical.
But I had a lot of fun building something.
And that’s what matters.
